The Power of Muscles

Staying Strong and Living Long

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to stay active and healthy even as they get older? It’s all about the muscles! Muscles do more than just help us move. They play a huge role in keeping us healthy and living longer.

Why Muscles Are Important

Muscles are like the body's engine. They give us the power to do things like walking, running, lifting, and even just sitting up straight. But muscles don’t just help us move, they also help important parts of our body work well, keep our organs healthy, and even support our brain.

One of the roles muscles play is to help control our blood sugar. When muscles move, like during exercise, they soak up sugar from the blood. This helps keep our blood sugar levels balanced and can lower the chance of getting type 2 diabetes. In fact, people with more muscle tend to have better blood sugar control, which is really important as we get older.
